!! Season 2 spoiler warning !!
These cards use actual anime stills. If you have not watched Frieren Season 2 yet, skip this post.
This is not the regular Frieren playing-card deck you can buy on Amazon or Crunchyroll.
It is a Japan-only bonus for buying all three Season 2 Blu-ray or DVD volumes. The box is stamped NOT FOR SALE, and there is no official English or Western retail release.Online, you will mostly find the box photo and almost nothing else: no clear card list, no breakdown, and very little pricing info.
That is why I wrote this up.
The box
The packaging is cleaner than most bonus items.
Dark case, silver crest, logo, and that is it. It looks closer to a premium product than a freebie.
The spine reads BEYOND JOURNEY’S END, and the design matches the tone of the show.
What’s inside
- Japanese name: 葬送のフリーレン Season 2 法人共通連動購入メーカー特典 箔押しトランプ
- Contents: 54 cards + case
- Catch: every card is a different scene
- Price: none (bonus item)
- How it was distributed: included when you bought all 3 Season 2 BD or DVD volumes in Japan
The cards use foil-stamped gold borders over anime stills. Laid out together, it feels less like a poker deck and more like a pocket scene collection for the season.
I would not shuffle these for a casual game night unless you are fine with wear.
They work better as a display/collectible.
Price and availability
- Mercari (Japan): about 3,000–5,000 yen sealed
- Rarity: moderate
- Hard to get? Kind of. It is a complete-set bonus, not a store item. But it is not ancient, and used copies do show up.
If you are outside Japan, the realistic routes are:
- a Japan proxy for Mercari / Yahoo Auctions
- a proxy for leftover retail complete-set listings
- secondhand from collectors
There is no official US/EU/KR shelf version of this foil stills deck.
Do not confuse it with the cheaper Ensky retail Frieren playing cards.
Worth it?
If you just want “Frieren cards to play with,” buy the regular deck.
If you want the Season 2 stills, the foil finish, and the not-for-sale packaging, this is the one.
It is not the rarest Frieren item, but it is one of the better-looking official card sets right now.
