Quick Verdict
Chou Kaguya Hime (超かぐや姫!) Tsukuyomi Aquarium trading cheki-style cards: a Sunshine Aquarium collaboration, full 11-type set. Polaroid-like paper cards that fit in one hand — no foil finish anywhere, which is a shame, since small cute foil accents would have suited the cards. Kaguya, Iroha, and Yachiyo get both normal and chibi versions; Mikado, Rai, Noi, Roka, and Mami are chibi-only — the one disappointment. Yachiyo getting the full two-version treatment is good news for her fans — I’m one of them. The chibis are all adorable, each holding an animal. Recommended for anyone who wants to see the characters in outfits different from their usual ones.
What’s the 11-Type Lineup?
Eleven cards, no randomness — a complete set. Kaguya, Iroha, and Yachiyo each appear twice: a normal version and a chibi version (cards 01–06). The normal versions are upper-body illustrations — Kaguya with her red ribbon, Iroha with her long black hair, Yachiyo with her white-and-purple hair — each in the character’s signature colors. These outfits flashed by briefly near the movie’s ending; seeing them properly on the cards, the designs really land. Mikado, Rai, Noi, Roka, and Mami appear only as chibis (cards 07–11): Mikado with his red hair and black horns, Rai with gray hair and green glasses under a hood, Noi with black hair and cat ears, Roka with brown hair, Mami with a yellow flower ornament. The 12th shot is the card back: black with the white ツクヨミアクアリウム logo. Each card carries the character’s name in English on a ribbon with a whale motif, color-coded per character — red for Kaguya and Mikado, teal for Iroha, purple for Yachiyo, brown-gold for Rai, pink for Noi, blue-gray for Roka, orange for Mami. The backgrounds are all water: ripples, light rays, and little fish silhouettes.
How Cute Are the Chibis?
Very. The chibi versions are all drawn adorably, and each one holds a single animal — a nice unifying touch across the set. Mikado’s horns and Noi’s cat ears survive the chibi-fication intact, which matters. Kaguya’s chibi holds a small brown creature, Iroha’s a blue one, Yachiyo’s a blue one too, and the rest follow the same pattern: one character, one animal. The water backgrounds stay consistent, so the eleven cards feel like one series even with the version split.
What’s the Disappointment?
The other five — Mikado, Rai, Noi, Roka, Mami — only got chibi versions. No normal versions exist for them in this set. It’s a shame, because the normal versions of Kaguya, Iroha, and Yachiyo show how good the full-size art is, and it would have been nice to see the rest of the group at the same scale. It’s a mild complaint, not a dealbreaker — the set is complete as sold, and the chibis carry it. If a second wave ever comes, normal versions of the five would be the obvious ask.
How Does the Card Feel?
Paper stock, but with a Polaroid-photo feel — small enough to hold in one hand, which suits the cheki concept. The trading cheki format is a staple of idol and VTuber goods, and the palm size is the concept itself: these are meant to be held, not framed. There’s no foil finish anywhere on the cards — a shame, since small cute foil accents would have suited them. The print is clean, and the cards feel like proper keepsakes rather than flimsy bonuses. For a collaboration good, the production quality is solid.
