Quick Verdict

In 2018, the BLEACH illustration collection JET was sold only as a made-to-order production. For the 25th anniversary it is back as two regular volumes — BLEACH Artbook JET 2026 I and II — carrying every color illustration Tite Kubo drew across 25 years of serialization, fan-club exclusives aside, plus the BLEACH and BURN THE WITCH illustrations drawn after the original JET. Volume I holds the Weekly Shonen Jump color work at 304 pages; Volume II holds the comic covers, unpublished pieces and post-finale art at 216 pages. Shueisha even reproduced the original with the same ink and paper. This was the first artbook I have ever bought, and it has set the bar for every one after it.

Two Volumes, Two Jobs

The split is clean. Volume I is the Jump record: magazine covers, opening color pages and posters, the weekly face of BLEACH from 2001 onward. Volume II is everything around it — all the tankobon cover illustrations, pieces never published in Jump, and illustrations drawn after the series ended, down to color manga pages. The 2018 JET alone carried over 700 illustrations, and this set keeps all of them. Volume II runs thinner than Volume I, and because its art comes later in the run, the drawing feels more settled and natural. The heroines also show up noticeably more often. The covers are black, with JET in huge orange letters running across front and back as one design, and both volumes open the same way: a single title page, nothing but the JET logo, short and heavy.

From Volume I — the Jump color pages. Single pages and two-page spreads mixed, exactly as they ran in the magazine.

From Volume II — covers, unpublished pieces, post-finale art. Later work, and the drawing sits more naturally for it.

The BURN THE WITCH illustrations sit in this volume too — and the color manga pages, the one section that stays admired rather than read.

Why So Few Interior Photos?

Deliberate. The interior shots in this review are kept to a minimum — a handful of spreads only — because an artbook’s contents are the product, and posting page after page would spoil it for anyone still deciding. What is shown here is the outside, the title pages and the index: enough to judge the object, not enough to replace it.

The Index at the Back

Each volume closes with a full index. Every illustration is listed with a thumbnail, the year it appeared, where it was published and the page it sits on; the cover illustrations are organized by volume number. For a 520-page set, this is what turns a heavy artbook into a usable one — the illustration you half-remember is two lookups away instead of a full flip-through.

The One Real Flaw

The binding gutter. Two-page spreads run straight into the spine, and the center of the image never fully opens — the standard artbook compromise, and it applies here too. The only other regret is personal: Volume II’s color manga pages are in Japanese, which I cannot read, so that section stays admired rather than read. Against that, the set arrived from the shop in excellent condition, and the spreads that do open flat — single pages and full-bleed art alike — are the kind you come back to repeatedly without it getting old.
