Quick Verdict

Bushiroad is discontinuing the Weiß Schwarz Blau (ヴァイスシュヴァルツブラウ) card game. The final new product is the Revue Starlight (少女☆歌劇 レヴュースタァライト) booster pack, releasing October 16, 2026 at ¥3,300 per box. Official tournaments run through December 2026 as scheduled. No reason was given for the discontinuation. If you collect Blau, the Revue Starlight booster is the last sealed product you will ever be able to buy new.

The Discontinuation Announcement

Bushiroad announced the end of Weiß Schwarz Blau on July 23, 2026, through a statement on the game’s official website (ws-blau.com). The news was reported the same day by Siliconera, which noted that the company thanked everyone who played and worked on the game since service began in 2022. The announcement gave no reason for the decision, and the official site said nothing about whether existing stock will continue to be sold or whether the company will simply sell through what remains.

Weiß Schwarz Blau launched in 2022 as a sister line to the main Weiß Schwarz trading card game, built around a simplified ruleset aimed at newer players. Four years is a short lifespan for a Bushiroad card game, and the quiet, reason-free announcement suggests the line never found the player base it needed. For collectors, the practical takeaway is simple: no new Blau products will exist after October 16.

The Final Booster: Revue Starlight

The last new Blau product is the booster pack for Revue Starlight (少女☆歌劇 レヴュースタァライト), the mixed-media franchise built around musical theater and anime that has been running since the project’s launch in 2017. The booster releases on Friday, October 16, 2026.

The pack price is ¥330 including tax, and a box of 10 packs is ¥3,300. Each pack contains 4 cards. The set comprises 69 base rarities plus parallels, with one guaranteed kirakira card per pack (either holographic or foil-stamped). Wholesale listings confirm the box price and the October 16 date. Beyond that, detailed specs such as the card list and rarity breakdown have not been widely published in English-language sources, so buyers should check the official Japanese product page before ordering.

Revue Starlight is a fitting final title in one sense: the franchise itself is approaching its 10th anniversary, with a stage Blu-ray scheduled for November 25 and a Bushiroad new-year presentation appearance locked in for January 2027. The cards may end, but the franchise behind them is still active, which could keep secondary-market interest alive longer than the game’s own lifespan.

Tournaments Continue Through December

The end of new products does not mean the immediate end of organized play. Bushiroad confirmed that official tournaments will continue through December 2026 as originally scheduled. Seven tournaments are planned across Japan for the rest of the year: Hakata on September 5, Kyoto on September 22, Tokyo on October 3, Sapporo on October 17, Sendai on November 3, Nagoya on November 8, and Kanazawa on November 28.

Three title cups run alongside the regular events, restricted to decks built only from cards of the respective series: Tougen Anki (桃源暗鬼), Fate/strange Fake, and Detective Conan (名探偵コナン). The World Grand Prix is also still on for this year, with a Fate/strange Fake title cup among its events. Players who invested in competitive Blau decks get a final season to use them, but the December cutoff is firm.

What Happens to Existing Stock

Bushiroad has not said whether it will keep printing existing Blau products or simply sell off remaining inventory. The official statement addressed only the end of new releases. In practice, this means boxes and packs currently in distribution may be the last of their kind, and reprints are unlikely for a discontinued line.

For sealed collectors, this creates a narrow window. The Revue Starlight booster is still available for pre-order at Japanese retailers at the standard ¥3,300 box price as of early October. Once the October 16 release passes and distributor stock dries up, prices will be set entirely by the secondary market. Earlier Blau sets may already be thinning out at retail, so anyone completing a set should check availability sooner rather than later.

What This Means for Collectors

The discontinuation divides Blau collectors into two groups. Players lose an organized-play scene after December, with no new cards to refresh the meta. Sealed-product collectors gain a closed set: every Blau product that will ever exist is already known, and the Revue Starlight booster is the final entry on the list.

A closed product line is easier to complete than an open one, but only while retail stock lasts. If you have been putting off picking up specific Blau boxes, the announcement removes any reason to wait. Check Japanese retailers for the Revue Starlight booster before its October 16 release, confirm what earlier sets are still in stock, and decide whether your collection ends with the game’s final pack.
