One Piece Grand Tesoro Playing Cards Review – The Joker Steals the Whole Deck

Quick Verdict

One Piece Film Gold playing cards whose joker steals the whole deck. The Grand Tesoro deck is all gold and sepia, every rank illustrated with Straw Hats and film characters — but the one full-color card is the joker: Luffy front and center on a pile of gold. One regret: the heroines are not the queens — Nami is the 3 of hearts and Robin is the 7 of diamonds.

Why the Joker?

It is the only full-color card in the deck, set against a gold background with Luffy as the main figure. Everything else in the deck is gold line art — the joker is the single burst of color.

Gold and Sepia, Every Rank Illustrated

The design follows Grand Tesoro itself: gold and sepia tones throughout, with the Straw Hat crew and characters from Film Gold on the cards. Every rank is illustrated, number cards included, and some cards and the jokers carry gold foil accents. The card backs are black with a gold dot pattern. The box prints the movie’s line, “Lack of money is the root of all evil.”, under the Gold Stella Show banner.

Who Are the Queens?

Hancock takes the queen of hearts, Vivi the queen of diamonds, and Perona the queen of clubs. The film’s heroines sit lower in the deck: Nami is the 3 of hearts and Robin is the 7 of diamonds. Sending Nami and Robin to the queen line would have been better — that is my one regret with this deck.
